Ernest Robinson IV discovered his passion for drums at an early age, drawn to rhythm and performance by the musical influence that surrounded him. Inspired by his brother, Qyu Jackson—renowned drummer for celebrated Hip-Hop and R&B artists such as Jennifer Hudson and Tony! Toni! Toné!—as well as his cousin, the world-famous drummer Thomas Pridgen, Ernest quickly developed a style that blends raw energy with refined musicality.
A third-generation firefighter from Oakland, California, Ernest carried the pride and discipline of his family’s legacy while forging his own path. Ultimately, he chose to pursue his second great love—music—and hasn’t looked back since. His playing is a vibrant mix of blues, rock, funk, and soul, captivating audiences with grooves that are as heartfelt as they are electrifying.
From humble beginnings to sharing stages with seasoned musicians, Ernest Robinson IV continues to push the boundaries of rhythm, driven by his roots, his inspirations, and his unwavering dedication to the art of drumming.
